St. Francis of Assisi had a great love of God and all of God's creation.  In particular, Francis loved those who were poor and neglected - for in them he saw Christ.  He served God by serving his poor brothers and sisters.  This is the basis of the Franciscan Volunteer Ministry.

During the year, the FVMs will have opportunities to learn about Franciscan spirituality and share expressed prayer.  In addition to their own prayer time, they often join Friars, Sisters and Laity in their prayer.  Four times during the year all FVM sites come together for a retreat, which offers time for reflection, prayer and renewal.
